| Projects can be extended by the site administrative contact by following instructions for changing the termination date in the Administrative function Display/Edit Projects using the Change option. Deferred Extensions require only a justification memo which can be emailed or faxed to CRIS (extensions cannot be submitted via the AD-416 form). |
State projects can be extended at the station's discretion.
Hatch (but not Multi-state), McIntire-Stennis, Animal Health, and Evans-Allen projects can be extended once for up to one year without CSREES approval. After the "free" extenion, additional extensions require CSREES approval. Additional extensions are usually requested by a short justification letter. CRIS forwards the letter to the reviewer for approval.
Hatch/Multi-state projects are extended by the Multi-state research office, and documentation is not required.
Grant extensions are handled by the Grants Office, and CRIS will only extend grants when notified by the awarding office.
